SAINT-EUSTACHE – Investigators combed through tall grass and trees to look for clues after a body was found in Saint-Eustache Monday afternoon.

Municipal workers discovered the remains, which were wrapped in a plastic bag.

By Tuesday morning, provincial police officers said they still had no idea who the person is.

“We only know that it’s a man,” said Sgt. Audrey-Anne Bilodeau.

“He was transported to the coroner’s office. We’re going to know more about the cause and the identity when the autopsy is done.”

The body was discovered down a gravel lane near Highway 13, not far from a residential neighbourhood.

“When I walk I see sometimes one, two, maybe three cars. That’s it,” said Fernande Ducasse, who said she walks her dog almost every day.

Ducasse pointed out the street is usually very quiet, but there are a few houses nearby.

This is the second time a body was found in the same area in the last two years.

In April 2014, remains were found on the east side of Highway 13.

Police are now trying to identify the man and figure out the cause of death with help from the coroner’s office.
