A CN bridge near the community of Seton Portage, approximately 32 kilometres west of Lillooet, was damaged by fire early this morning.
CN Rail says no trains were involved and there were no injuries.
The fire was put out this morning and CN crews are on site.
There is no timeline for repairs.
The line is out of service at that location, but CN says rail service to customers along the corridor will continue using alternate routes.
Transport Canada told Global News they will not speculate on the cause of the fire, but do say railway companies are responsible for the safety of their rail line infrastructure, railway equipment and operations.
