RCMP look for hit-and-run suspect after tow truck driver struck on the shoulder of Hwy 99

Police in Delta are looking for a driver allegedly involved in a hit-and-run Thursday night.

It happened at approximately 6:40 p.m. when a tow truck driver was struck by a passing driver as he worked outside his truck on Highway 99, on the shoulder of the northbound lane near the off-ramp from River Road.

The victim was loading a disabled vehicle onto his truck at the time of the collision and had his flashing amber lights activated.

Investigators say the suspect vehicle fled the area after the accident.

The victim was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The suspect vehicle was described as an older model, single cab, Ford F-150, white in color, with “FORD” in large letters on the tail gate.

Anyone who may have witnessed the accident or have any information about this incident is asked to contact the police.
