Lethbridge police are asking for public help finding a woman who may have information related to the death of Irene Carter.

The 78-year-old woman was found lifeless in her south side home Jan. 17; her death was ruled the city’s first homicide of 2016 two days later.

“The Calgary Medical Examiner’s office determined Mrs. Carter died as a result of stab wounds and as such the death has been ruled a homicide,” Lethbridge police executive officer Kristen Harding said in January.

Lethbridge Police Sgt. Ryan Stef said Wednesday investigators are trying to find a woman who “goes by the name of Terri Lynn or Terri with the last initial ‘L.’” He wasn’t able to specify the spelling of her name.
