It is a new spin on yoga that is making quite the wave in the Okanagan: paddle board yoga.
About 20 people took to Okanagan Lake in Kelowna on Saturday to practice the water-based yoga.
It is a trend that started in Hawaii several years ago and is now growing in popularity all over North America.
Organizers say taking yoga off the mat and onto the water provides a new challenge in a natural environment.
“Every pose becomes a balancing pose. A lot more effort is involved in just adding that balance element but on a day like today, it is very enjoyable, very Zen,” said yoga instructor Kristy Wright.
The water class was put on by Hot Box Yoga Studio.
