Family, friends remember homicide victim Joseph Cameron at service

Family and friends of Joseph Douglas Cameron said their final goodbyes on Tuesday morning.

Holy Trinity Emmanuel Anglican Church in Dartmouth was packed with family and friends to the 20-year-old homicide victim.

Cameron was shot and killed in the early morning hours of March 29, near Mount Edward Road and Spring Avenue.

Many who were attending the celebration of life ceremony for Cameron could be seen wearing clothing with the name Stacey Adams on them.

Adams was also 20 years old was when he was fatally shot in Lake Echo, N.S., in 2011. Police laid a charge of second-degree murder in Adams death, but despite a Canada-wide warrant for Steven Skinner, he has never been found.

So far, no arrests have been made in connection with the death of Cameron.

On Monday, police said they searched three residences in the area of Kennedy Drive and Spring Avenue overnight Sunday and found items potentially associated to the case.

They do not believe the fatal shooting was a random act.
