New Democrat Party candidate Nicole Sarauer has won the riding of Regina Douglas Park.
Sarauer is a young lawyer who practiced law at Kanuka Thuringer LLP until 2011, when she quit her job to work for a charity which provides free legal representation to those who otherwise could not afford it.
In 2012 she was elected as school trustee as a Trustee of the Regina Catholic School Board and also works for the Regina Sexual Assault Centre and the YWCA Big Sisters program.

The seat was held by former public school board trustee and Saskatchewan Party candidate Russ Marchuk who defeated former NDP leader Dwain Lingenfelter in 2011.
Victor Lau the leader of the Green Party finished a distant third in the race.
