A video captured by Global BC viewer Meaghan Brooke of a young wolf playing in her backyard in Prince Rupert has generated thousands of views on Facebook.
Brooke said while this wolf seemed to be having a fun time, the city has had a wolf problem for a few years and can often be seen in people’s yards and on the streets. She said it is a concern because they don’t seem to be scared of humans at all anymore.
“This is the third time I have caught wolves in my yard in a couple months,” said Brooke in an email interview. “The last couple years Rupert has been overrun with wolves, they are everywhere.”
“Most people use our local Facebook garage community pages to post where and when wolves have been seen so people are aware to keep their dogs inside.”
