Wednesday was the last night a group of Dalhousie University students spent sleeping on the street outside the university’s Business building.

The “5 days of Homelessness Campaign” started on Saturday – since then the students had been living entirely outside.

Huddled in sleeping bags, and with only the clothes on their backs, the students lived only off money donated to them.

“Last night was probably our most difficult night in terms of precipitation but it was good, we’re kind of covered and we made due with garbage bags and stuff like that, but it was still a good night,” Madeline Clerk said Wednesday.

The campaign is aimed at raising awareness about the realities of living as a homeless young person in Halifax, as many do.
