Two teenagers are dead after a car accident in Cranbrook early this morning.
Levi Mackay Robertson, 19, and Brennan Troy Johnson, 17, died after the pickup truck they were in crashed into a tree at Gold Creek Road near 42nd North at 1 a.m.
Robertson was the driver and Johnson was the passenger. One other person, whose identity has not been released, was also in the truck and is recovering in a Calgary hospital.
“The families of both men have been notified of their deaths. On behalf of family members, the BC Coroners Service requests that the media respect their privacy during this difficult time,” said Coroner Barb McLintock in a statement.
Cranbrook RCMP say cause and contributing factors have not yet been identified by collision analysts.
