WINNIPEG — Jamie Hall, the Manitoba Liberal’s candidate for Southdale is under fire for recently found comments made on social media, containing derogatory words and views about women.
Hall made the comments on Twitter on several occasions in 2011 and 2012. In one particular tweet, he calls women “whores”. In another, he said he is “prejudicial against woman [sic] politicians”.
Hall apologized for his tweets but defended himself, telling the Canadian Press, “I have countless friends that are women, my girlfriend, my mother, my sister, my grandmas who are no longer with me. And I am not by any means sexist.”
Manitoba NDP has called on Liberal Party leadership to remove Hall from candidacy.
