Oscars 2016: A full recap of the red carpet fashion

The Academy Awards is the biggest night for Hollywood in terms of acting accolades; it’s also the industry’s best and brightest sartorial event.

The evening of the Oscars is when haute couture and star power combine to create a red carpet experience that outshines all others.

What the Grammys has in risqué ensembles and confusing looks, the Oscars has in old-school glamour and sophistication (it has it in spades, in fact). The Academy Awards even trumps the Golden Globes.

In that vein, Sunday, Feb. 28’s ceremony did not disappoint. Every major designer was represented, and the A-list stars who made an appearance were at the top of their game.

If any trends were to be seen, it would be blue and black paired together and all-metallic outfits. Other looks that dominated the carpet, include backless dresses, ladies showing their shoulders and over-the-top baubles (from earrings to necklaces).
