What’s open and closed on Louis Riel Day

WINNIPEG – Monday is Louis Riel Day, meaning a number of city services and store hours will be effected.

Shopping Malls

Polo Park, Kildonan Place and St. Vital are open on Louis Riel Day from 11 a,m, until 6 p.m. Grant Park is open from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Liquor Marts

All Manitoba Liquor Marts will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Cityplace Liquor Mart will be closed.

City of Winnipeg services

Recycling and garbage will be collected as normally scheduled.

Winnipeg Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule.

Winnipeg Public Libraries are closed.

All pools will be closed except Pan Am Pool (open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex (open from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.)

Amusement Facilities

If you’re hoping to get out of the house and spend time with your family, there are number of activities to try out, such as visiting the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, exploring the Festival du Voyageur and checking out polar bears at the Assiniboine Park Zoo.
