TORONTO — A 31-year-old woman found dead by her friends at an apartment in northwest Toronto early Saturday morning is the city’s 10th homicide of the year — and the fourth since Friday night.
Police say the friends arrived to socialize with Sylvia Consuelo at the Toronto Community Housing at 121 Kendleton Drive when they discovered her dead body around 4:45 a.m.
An autopsy was conducted but police are not releasing cause of death.
Police are asking any witnesses who can shed light on Consuelo’s whereabouts from Friday onward to contact them.
Consuelo’s homicide caps a deadly weekend in Toronto, with three other people killed — including a double-shooting outside a Chinatown restaurant and the gunning down of an 87-year-old reputed mobster.
