Sentencing for a New Brunswick man on sex assault and child pornography charges has been delayed while the Crown contemplates other charges related to allegations he lured as many as 2,000 boys online.
Police allege a video of a teenage girl that appeared to be live was used in live video chats to convince the boys to undress and initiate sex acts, which were taped and distributed on the Internet.

Police say the alleged offences happened from at least January 2012 to the fall of 2014 and there are alleged victims worldwide, including in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Australia and Russia.
The 24-year-old man, who can’t be named because of a court-ordered publication ban, appeared in Court of Queen’s Bench in Moncton today to have a sentencing date set on several other charges including producing child pornography, sexual assault and making child pornography available.
He pleaded guilty last year to those charges.

Crown Prosecutor Karen Lee says the hearing to set a date for sentencing has been adjourned until April while the investigation continues and a psychologist evaluates the accused for the risk to re-offend.
