Police investigating whether robberies are linked

Handout/Global News

KELOWNA — RCMP are investigating a string of armed robberies in the Central Interior and Okanagan to determine whether they’re linked.

One of the robberies happened at Jammer’s Liquor Store in Kelowna on Sunday at around 9 p.m. when two men armed with a gun got away with some cash and alcohol. The suspects have been captured but police do not offer any details.

At about 10:35 p.m. Sunday, a liquor store in Kamloops was robbed at gunpoint by two men.

And in Salmon Arm, two men robbed a Mac’s convenience store at gunpoint Saturday. They got away with cash and cigarettes.

RCMP are looking into whether all three crimes were committed by the same suspects.

“Investigators from three Detachments from the Central Interior and Okanagan are investigating a string of armed robberies that have occurred over the past week or so,” says Cpl. Dan Muskaluk.  “RCMP investigators are sharing information on the robberies, whether they are linked is yet to be determined.”
