LEWISTON, N.Y. – Authorities say a Canadian woman has been caught trying to smuggle more than 50 pounds (22 kilograms) of marijuana into New York state by hiding it in a foosball table.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials say the woman was stopped Wednesday at the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge border crossing.

She had told officers she was heading into New York state to buy tickets for Wednesday night’s $1.6 billion Powerball jackpot.

Officials say the marijuana was worth about $60,000. The woman was turned over the New York State Police.
