Regina woman makes online plea for Garth Brooks to open Mosaic Stadium

The city of Regina announced on Monday that the University of Regina Rams football team will be hosting the first event at the new mosaic stadium.

Regina – A lot of people are looking forward to seeing the Saskatchewan Roughriders play at the new Mosaic Stadium, but what about the concerts that will take place there?

A local woman has made an online plea to Garth Brooks to consider performing at the stadium after hearing on the radio that the country superstar likes to open new arenas.

Kayla Alie is trying to get 200,000 likes on her post to Brooks’ Facebook page.

As of Monday evening she was just shy of 10,000 likes.

“I think it would be a great way to kick things off and for every generation. I have a seven year old daughter and she knows who he is, our grandparents know who he is,” she explained. “There’s the argument and everyone will have their opinion about who should open the stadium, but everyone knows at least one Garth Brooks song and I think the city would be electric with him here.”

Of course no amount of likes on Facebook is guaranteed to get Garth Brooks to Regina. The decision would be up to him and Evraz officials.
