UPDATE: Charges laid after tragic collision north of Saskatoon

SASKATOON – A fatal crash along Highway 11 north of Saskatoon has left two adults and one child dead, and another child injured early Sunday morning. Warman RCMP say they responded to a collision at the intersection of Highway 11 and Wanuskewin Road at approximately 12:30 a.m. CT.

Police say a car was travelling westbound on Highway 11 when it was hit by a jeep trying to cross the highway on Wanuskewin Road.

The car had four occupants, including a 34-year-old male driver, a 33-year-old female passenger, a two-year-old male child and a five-year-old female child.

Police say the two adults were confirmed deceased on scene and both children were taken to hospital in Saskatoon with serious injuries.

The two-year-old child has since died from his injuries.

The driver of the jeep was a 49-year-old woman from Saskatoon who was the lone person in the vehicle.

Police say she was taken to hospital and released after an examination. The woman has since been arrested and remains in custody with charges pending.

Police are not releasing the name of the deceased at this time as an investigation is ongoing.

Police have confirmed the highway has been reopened to traffic.
