HALIFAX – Digby RCMP are investigating after the body of a young woman was found on a boat at a Westport wharf.
Police say they received a 911 call around 5 p.m. on Tuesday, which led them to a fishing vessel at a public wharf in Westport, N.S.
When officers went aboard the boat, they found the body of a 20-year-old woman.
RCMP will not say how the woman died.
Const. Mark Skinner says police “consider everything suspicious until it is proven otherwise.”
RCMP Southwest Nova Major Crimes and the RCMP Forensic Identification Service are assisting with the investigation.
Police are asking anyone with information to call RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
