Alberta man dies after fight west of Calgary

RCMP have charged a 23-year-old man in connection with the death of another man on Stony Nakoda First Nation Wednesday night.

Mounties said two men got into an argument while partying at a home earlier in the evening. An altercation became physical and a 28-year-old Stony Nakoda man was airlifted to hospital in Calgary by a STARS air ambulance.

Police said the man has since died of his injuries in hospital.

An autopsy was scheduled for Thursday morning at the Calgary Medical Examiner’s office.

Jay Rollinmud has been charged with one count of manslaughter in connection with the death.

He is in custody and will is scheduled to appear in a Cochrane courtroom on Tuesday.

Stony Nakoda First Nation is about 60 kilometres west of Calgary.
