Shh! Baby and Santa take a nap during photo, picture goes viral

What’s cuter than a six-month-old baby asleep in Santa Claus’ arms? A six-month-old baby and Santa both sleeping, of course.

A picture posted on Donnie Walters “Daddy Daycare” Facebook page of his six-month-old son Zeke and Jolly Old St. Nick snoozing away really is one of the “cutest thing[s] ever seen.”

Walters was waiting in line with his wife and Zeke at an Indiana mall for the little boy to take a picture with Santa when Zeke decided it was time to take a nap. The family was going to wait until the young boy woke up to take the photo but was advised by a stranger to take the picture anyway.

“There was a lady behind us and she said ‘Santa [takes] really good sleeping baby photos,’” Walters told WEVV News.

So when it was Zeke’s turn to take his first ever picture with Santa, he told Walters he had an idea for the perfect photo with the six-month-old.

Walters posted the photo on his page and said he didn’t expect to receive such a massive reaction to the post.

“I figured a few family members might share it, a couple friends maybe, but no idea it would go like it has.”

Since the picture’s posting on Nov. 26, it has been shared more than 237,000 times, has more than 444,000 likes and nearly 26,500 comments.

“The comments are amazing. there would be people that would post how they were having a bad day and they came home and opened up Facebook and they saw this picture and it just made everything better,” Walters added.

But Santa wants to make sure all the boys and girls  – and yes, even adults – across the world remember the true meaning of the holidays.

“Sometimes the world gets away… mom and dad get so busy with their lives and careers and they forget to spend that quality time with their children, that’s the true memories,” Santa told WEVV.

As for Zeke, we’re expecting him to make the nice list this year.
