Blogger accuses Montreal cop of ramming into his car with SUV

An off-duty Montreal police officer reportedly rammed his car into another vehicle over a road rage incident.

MONTREAL – Police are investigating after a blogger claimed an officer rammed into his car with his SUV earlier this year.

This is according to a blog post on the Collective Opposed to Police Brutality website.

The group has organized violent and non-violent protests against police in the past.

Jeffery Pokora wrote the blog post and linked to a video of an incident between him and an off-duty cop.

The video was time-stamped for 11:15 p.m. on Jan. 14, 2015.

Montreal police commander Ian Lafrenière confirmed that the man in the camouflage pants seen in the video is an officer.

He told Global News that the entire case is being investigated.

Pokora has already been charged for uttering death threats and assaulting a police officer; there are no charges against the cop for now.

Lafrenière said it was police who requested to see the video.

Pokora said he got into an argument with the off-duty officer after he was cut off by the grey Jeep seen in the video.

“Besides failing to stop at the stop line, he continued to speed off straight in front of me, and at such a rate I was unable to take any note of his license plate information,” he wrote.

“I asked the gentlemen, ‘excuse me sir, but you mind explaining to me what you, and why you, did what you did back there?'” he wrote.

“The owner of the grey 4×4 then appeared to become enraged with such anger and hostility over my question, that he then proceeded to charge towards me, off his private property, and onto the public road way.”

According to Pokora, the officer started getting aggressive.

“The owner of the grey 4×4 then proceeds to take his right index finger and starts to poke and drill me several times and repeatedly into my left shoulder, thus the owner was now illegally assaulting me,” he wrote.

The video shows a lengthy face-to-face confrontation before the officer got back into his car.

Pokora claims he called 911 and was waiting for the police to arrive, and the video shows a dark car blocking the Jeep from leaving the driveway of a residence.

The cop’s vehicle is then seen backing right into the side of the car, propelling it into the street before moving forward and backing into the car a second time.

The car drives off and the cop’s vehicle is seen chasing the car up the street, in reverse, at high speed.
