TORONTO – A 28-year-old Toronto man has been charged with impaired driving causing death in connection to a fatal hit-and-run in Scarborough on Tuesday.
Police said a 25-year-old man, identified in media reports as Mandeep Singh, was trying to cross McCowan Road at Kenhatch Boulevard when he was struck by a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am.
It is alleged the driver failed to remain at the scene and his vehicle was later found at a McDonald’s parking lot nearby.
Police located the accused and identified him as Sean England of Toronto.
He faces charges of impaired operation of a motor vehicle cause death, over 80 mgs operation cause death, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle cause death, criminal negligence cause death and fail to stop at accident causing death.
The accused is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
