Stuart McLean calls off Vinyl Cafe Christmas Tour to begin treatment for melanoma

WINNIPEG –  Stuart McLean has cancelled his annual Vinyl Cafe Christmas Tour, which was set to stop in Winnipeg, so he can start treatment for melanoma.

McLean announced the news on his Facebook page Saturday and wrote, ” I begin therapy next week.”

The best-selling author and award-winning journalist has been touring across Canada and the United States with the CBC radio program since 1998, according to the Vinyl Cafe website section.

McLean was scheduled to perform in various cities for the next two months, with a stop at Centennial Concert Hall on December 7.

“Ticket refunds will be available beginning Tuesday November 24th, 2015,” McLean wrote.

He also said his doctor expects the treatment to be successful.

“It feels like I invited everyone to dinner and am calling to say the party’s off. I don’t know what to say except, I am sorry,” he wrote.
