Two pedestrians are in hospital with serious injuries after a pair of collisions Tuesday night.

A 74-year-old man was struck in Abbotsford at Trethewey Street and Slocan Drive around 7 p.m. Police are looking for any witnesses to the crash, but the driver remained at the scene and is cooperating.

Meanwhile, Surrey RCMP say a 39-year-old woman crossing the road in a marked crosswalk in the 12500-block of 75A Avenue was hit by a blue Dodge Caravan just after 6 p.m. She was taken to hospital with severe injuries to her legs and head.

The driver stayed at the scene. Police say alcohol and speed are not believed to have played a part in this accident.
