WINNIPEG – The Winnipeg Jets will be without rookie forward Andrew Copp for the foreseeable future.
Copp has been placed on the team’s injured reserve with an upper-body injury he suffered in Saturday’s 3-2 win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. Copp scored his first career NHL goal in the same game.
To help fill the void, Winnipeg has called up Patrice Cormier from the Manitoba Moose. Cormier has a goal and an assist in nine AHL games this season. He’s racked up three assists in 29 games with the Jets spread over four years.
Winnipeg plays the first of back-to-back games Tuesday night when the team faces the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Jets wrap up the four-game road trip Thursday night by visiting the Ottawa Senators.
