WINNIPEG — Winnipeg police have released few details in regards to the death of a 49-year-old woman Friday morning, but have now identified the deceased.

Camille Runke was killed in the 500 block of Marion Street.

On Friday, neighbours told Global News they heard noises that sounded like gunshots overnight.

“It was three separate noises with pauses in between,” said the resident who didn’t want to be identified. “When I woke up this morning I saw an ambulance with its lights on, they put someone in the back and left without their lights on…I guess the shop owner must have called it in this morning.”

Officers confirmed Saturday afternoon that Runke “had been the victim of a shooting incident.”
