4 officers injured after two separate vehicles collide into two cruisers

TORONTO – Four Toronto police officers suffered minor injuries after two separate vehicles collided with two cruisers in North York overnight.

The first crash happened around 12:30 a.m. when a vehicle rear-ended a cruiser on Finch Avenue West and Tobermory Drive.

The driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital with serious injuries. Meanwhile, both officers suffered minor injuries.

Several hours later, a second vehicle slammed into another Toronto police cruiser at a roadblock at Finch Avenue West and Sentinel Road.

The driver of the vehicle was taken into custody. Both officers in that crash suffered minor injuries.

It is believed both drivers were impaired at the time of the collisions.
