EDMONTON — Police have identified and charged a man with sexual assault in connection with an incident on the LRT last month.

Shortly after midnight on Sept. 29, a man who appeared visibly intoxicated got onto the train at Churchill Station, according to police. They said he then approached a woman and tried several times to sit with her.

When the woman tried to leave, the man allegedly sexually assaulted her.

As a result of numerous tips from the public, 26-year-old Scott Gordon Kennedy was charged with one count of sexual assault.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 27.
