The first results of the 2015 federal election are trickling in and Twitter is alive with talk of #Elxn42.
As of 8:15 p.m. ET, over 340,000 tweets including the hashtag #elxn42 had been sent, according to Twitter Canada — but it’s not just Canadians using the hashtag. Users from around the world have joined the conversation online, encouraging Canadians to vote and weighing in on political issues.

While the majority of tweets including the #elxn42 hashtag were sent from Canada, users from regions including the U.K., Australia, France, and India were also tweeting.
