Nathaniel Erskine-Smith has recaptured a former Liberal stronghold, upsetting NDP incumbent Matthew Kellway.
Erskine-Smith appeared to win a comfortable victory, with Kellway coming a distant second.
In 2011, Kellway defeated long-time incumbent Liberal MP Maria Minna by 5,298 votes, a margin of nearly 11 per cent. Minna had held the seat from 1993 until her defeat in 2011.
The riding combines the Beaches neighbourhood and the former neighbourhood of East York, which has not changed for this election.
