Liberal candidate Pamela Goldsmith-Jones has been elected in the riding of West Vancouver-Sunshine Coast-Sea to Sky Country in B.C.
This was considered a riding to watch in this year’s election, with several high-profile candidates. In 2008, Conservative John Weston took this riding over NDP candidate Terry Platt by 22.1 per cent to win his second term.
Blair Wilson won this seat for the Liberal Party in 2006, but otherwise the region has supported right-wing candidates since 1974.
This riding includes all of West Vancouver, Bowen Island, the Sunshine Coast from Gibsons to Nelson Island, and all the towns along the Sea-to-Sky Highway until Joffre Lakes Provincial Park.
