WEST KELOWNA – It has happened before and RCMP say it will likely happen again.
A senior drove through the front window of a West Kelowna business Thursday afternoon after confusing the gas and brake pedals.
The incident at the Bulk Barn on Carrington Road involved a 78 year old driver.
“It appears that he mistakenly pressed the accelerator instead of the brake pedal,” says Constable Kent Hall. “When he felt the vehicle move forward, he panicked and pressed the accelerator even farther.”
Damage to the store was extensive but luckily no-one was injured.
Cst. Hall says this sort of incident happens on a regular basis.
“This isn’t our first and I’m sure it won’t be our last.”
