Police are looking for witnesses following a possible child luring attempt in an East Vancouver park Sunday afternoon.

The Vancouver Police Department says a woman approached a 12-year-old boy in Melbourne Park, located on Vanness Avenue near Melbourne Street, and attempted to lure him out of the area.

They say another adult confronted the woman, who then left the park.

The woman is described as Caucasian, 5-foot-7 tall, 125 pounds with blonde hair and protruding front teeth. She was wearing a dark jacket, a white tank top with red lettering, faded blue jeans, and was carrying a backpack with another jacket hanging off the side.

She was last seen boarding a train and getting off in the area of the Surrey Central SkyTrain Station around 2:30 p.m.
