Another busy weekend for North Shore Rescue with 4 separate searches Sunday night

It’s been another incredibly busy weekend for search crews on the North Shore.

North Shore Rescue responded to four different calls Sunday night.

The first call came in about an hour after sunset on Cypress Mountain after five people got lost. They were located and brought back to safety.

Three others were escorted from the Grouse Grind after they ran into trouble.

One hiker was rescued from Mount Seymour around 10:45 p.m.

Search crews are getting frustrated their message isn’t being heard.

“It’s a very busy time for us and we keep stressing the same message, please be prepared when you’re heading into the backcountry,” says Mike Danks with North Shore Rescue.

This morning, a woman was airlifted from Lynn Headwaters Regional Park after she went missing while going for a hike.
