UPDATE: Flyboarders set record on Kalamalka Lake

UPDATE: 4:45 p.m. — The pro flyboarder riders achieved their goal of getting all fifteen riders in the air at once.

VERNON — Professional flyboarders are aiming high, as they try to set a record on Kalamalka Lake Thursday afternoon.

If all 15 riders are in the air at the same time, it will set a Canadian record for most flyboarders on Canadian water.

The country’s top flyboard riders are using this occasion to film a video, which will help them attract sponsors so they can attend the X Dubai Flyboard World Cup in December.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

Flyboards are attached to personal watercraft, supplying the propulsion that drives the flyboard through the air and water.
