HALIFAX – Halifax police have ruled that the death of an 81-year-old man at the Parkstone Enhanced Care continuing care facility in Clayton Park over the weekend is a homicide, but they will not be laying charges.
The man died Saturday at 10:30 p.m, and his death was reported to police on Sunday. Police believe the man was pushed by a fellow resident earlier in the week.
An autopsy conducted today by the Medical Examiner’s Office ruled the death a homicide.
Police say they won’t lay charges, because the suspect is not criminally culpable due to his cognitive impairment.
