WINNIPEG – It’s set to be Winnipeg’s newest and tallest downtown tower and those looking to buy in to a piece of downtown living now have their chance.
Sales officially started Saturday morning for condos at SkyCity on the northwest corner of Graham Avenue and Garry Street.
Fortress Real Developments will need 40 to 50 per cent in pre-sales of the planned 388 suites before it can begin construction.
The skyscraper is set to become the tallest building between Calgary and Toronto.
The condos will start at $190,000.
The project was originally announced in the spring of 2013 but Fortress hit a snag on the project when it lost its partner in the joint venture, Mady Developments.
Ontario-based Mady is currently in bankruptcy protection.

Fortress is now the sole owner of the land designated for the condo project across from the new police headquarters and Winnipeggers.
When it was first announced the project was said to be a $200-million project tower which would see a new mixed-use skyscraper on the site of what is now a surface parking lot on Graham Avenue.
Residential space will occupy most of the building, Fortress representatives said Tuesday. They have said the tower will also include a grocery store and commercial/office space.
