George Clooney talks staying connected with wife Amal at ‘Our Brand Is Crisis’ TIFF premiere

In a surprise appearance, producer George Clooney attended the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of Our Brand Is Crisis, starring his pal Sandra Bullock in a role that he was originally supposed to play.

Speaking with ET Canada’s Roz Weston, the actor joked about his supposed rivalry with Bullock.

“Can I tell you what really happened, just so you know? Originally I was supposed to live in Gravity,” Clooney said. “So she killed me off on the first one and then she took this part. She’s slowly taking over the world.”

Of course, the real leading lady in his life is Amal Clooney. The two will celebrate their first wedding anniversary in just about two weeks.

But, while she does human rights work abroad and he promotes his films, they stay in touch the old-fashioned way.

“Yeah, we Snapchat a lot,” the actor joked. “As you can imagine, I’m a big Snapchatter. No, we do all kinds of interesting things. Like, there’s a phone that we use that we talk to each other on.”

Clooney, who was one of the producers of Our Brand Is Crisis, also commented on the harsh realities of the political system. “It’s less about trying to win as much as it’s about trying to bring the other guy down.”
