HALIFAX – One man has been charged after an alleged sexual assault at Acadia University.
Cst. Mark Skinner with Nova Scotia RCMP said police responded to an incident in the early hours of September 2. He said the alleged sexual assault happened in the overnight hours between September 1 and 2.
Police arrested a 21-year-old man and charged him with sexual assault. The victim is a 21-year-old woman. The alleged incident happened on the Acadia campus; Skinner declined to provide any more details about where specifically it happened.
Skinner said the man and woman are known to one another.
The man, whose name police are not releasing so as not to identify the victim, appeared in Kentville court September 8 and will return to court October 5.
