3 men charged after bust by Calgary Police Guns and Gangs Unit

Three young men have been charged with drug and weapons offenses after an investigation by the Calgary Police Service Guns and Gangs Unit and the Gang Enforcement and Gang Suppression teams.

On August 4, officers executed search warrants on residences in the Beltline and the northwest community of Panorama. More than two weeks later, on August 20, they searched residences and vehicles in the communities of Coventry and Harvest Hills.

As a result of the investigation, 19-year-old Sina Valayati  faces numerous charges including possession of a controlled substance, possession of the proceeds of crime and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Majed Zulfiqar, also 19, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime.

20-year-old Erik Anthony Silva has been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of a controlled substance and possession of the proceeds of crime.
