KELOWNA — The former home of the old Kelowna Senior Secondary School on Richter and Harvey will soon become Central Green, a community that will soon transform the current vacant land into a residential community.

The owner of the lot, Al Stober Construction, has recently partnered with Mission Group Homes to make this planned development one-step closer to reality.

Central Green will be Kelowna’s first neighbourhood that is certified in Leadership Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). Plans for this community will include green building practices with considerations such as development density, proximity to transit, land-use, and multi-modal transportation.

A part of the master plan is Rowcliffe Park, a 5-acre portion of the land that is currently used as an off-leash dog park. According to Mission Group Homes, the City plans to begin construction on the green space in summer of 2017.
