WINNIPEG — A man was critically injured in a fire in St. Boniface Tuesday morning and the Winnipeg police arson unit is investigating.
Several fire crews were dispatched shortly after 5 a.m. amid reports of an explosion inside a St. Boniface house.

Fire crews say the explosion happened in the basement inside the home on Fifth Avenue, near Des Meurons Street. One person was rushed to hospital.
Police gave no information about damage and what caused the explosion.
