One of the Americans who helped overpower a heavily armed man on a high-speed train travelling between Amsterdam and Paris on Friday managed to capture video shortly after the attacker was subdued.
The video shows the chaotic scene inside a passenger train where four men, three U.S. citizens and one British citizen, tackled and restrained a man armed with an assault rifle.
Anthony Sadler, a senior at Sacramento State University, was travelling from Amsterdam with two friends, U.S. Airman Spencer Stone and U.S. National Guardsman Alek Skarlatos, when they encountered a man carrying an AK-47.

Stone and Skarlatos initially tackled and began fighting with the gunman before Sadler and Chris Norman, a British national, jumped in to help disarm and tie up the man in the aisle of the train.
Video taken by Sadler shows the suspected shooter with his arms and legs tied behind him. The short clip shows blood on the seats and window, and what appears to be the gunman’s rifle is seen resting on a chair.
Three passengers were injured in the incident, but no fatalities were reported.
The suspect has been identified by French and Spanish officials as 26-year-old Moroccan Ayoub El-Khazzani, who was armed with an AK-47 with nine magazines of ammunition, a pistol, and a box-cutter.

On Sunday, the three Americans described their harrowing ordeal during a press conference at the U.S. Ambassador’s residence in Paris.
Stone told reporters how he and his friends tackled the gunman after his weapon apparently jammed.

Stone, who was wounded during the altercation, is also credited with saving a French-American teacher who suffered a gunshot wound to the neck.
“I was going to use my shirt first but I realised that wasn’t going to work, so I just stuck two of my fingers into the hole, found what I thought to be the artery, pushed down and the bleeding stopped,” Stone said.
Sadler described how he was proud of his friend who reacted quickly to the incident.
French President Francois Hollande is scheduled to present the Americans with the prestigious Legion of Honor on Monday.
