A 21-year-old woman is in critical condition after colliding with a mini-van in North Vancouver.
The woman, who is an Argentinean foreign student living in North Vancouver, was roller-skating westbound on East Osborne Road on Thursday, but failed to stop at the stop sign on Lonsdale Ave.
She roller-skated into the intersection hitting a southbound mini-van on the driver’s side.
The woman received significant injury and trauma to her head and body.
The driver of the car remained at the scene, offering first aid.
The victim remains in the Intensive Care Unit at Lions Gate Hospital with an extensive head injury.
Police say they were told by witnesses that she was not wearing a safety helmet.
