UPDATE: 2 people found in car south of Campbell River identified

UPDATE: The BC Coroners Service has confirmed the identity of the two people found dead near Campbell River on Aug. 12.

They were identified as Roy Richard Stotz, aged 54, and Elvira Tagieva, aged 24, both of Campbell River.

Foul play has been ruled out in the incident.

Mounties say foul play is not suspected after two bodies were found in a SUV south of Campbell River on Wednesday.

RCMP were called at 5:40 p.m. to the 3800-block of Island Highway South, after receiving reports of the bodies in the SUV.

The bodies of an adult man and adult woman were found inside and police say, based on preliminary findings, foul play is not suspected.

Police are now assisting the BC Coroners Service with their ongoing investigation.

The identities of the two people have not been released at this time.
