Federal Election 2015: Dorval—Lachine—LaSalle riding results

Summary: This is a new riding for 2015. Isabelle Morin, who was first elected in the former riding of Notre-Dame-de-Grâce—Lachine in 2011, is seeking re-election here.

Boundaries: This riding includes parts of the former LaSalle-Émard riding and Notre-Dame-de-Grâce—Lachine. It includes all of Dorval, L’Île-Dorval, and the northwest portion of LaSalle.

Last Election: If this riding existed in 2011, the NDP would have won with 41.1 per cent of the vote. The Liberals would have earned 29.4 per cent.

History: Both of the former ridings that compose this riding were solidly Liberal 1997-2011. Both elected NDP members in 2011. Morin defeated Liberal Marlene Jennings, who had won five straight elections by significant margins.

Demographics: English was the first language of 28.3 per cent of residents here in the last census, the fifth highest number in the province.
