COLDSTREAM – Vernon RCMP don’t suspect foul play was involved in the death of a 67-year-old Okanagan man whose body was found Kalamalka Lake on Saturday.

Police were dispatched to the Rattlesnake Point area of Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park, just before noon on Saturday, after people out kayaking discovered a body in the water. RCMP spokesperson Gord Molendyk says it appears the man was out snorkeling before he died. He was pronounced dead onsite.

“It does not appear that this death is suspicious in nature,” wrote Cst. Jocelyn Noseworthy in a media release.

Police have turned the investigation over to the coroners service.

RCMP are not releasing the man’s name.
