WINNIPEG — Vernon Robert Baker, 18, has been charged with manslaughter in connection with the death of a South Indian Lake man.
The 28-year-old man was reported missing on Wednesday and found dead near South Indian Lake on Thursday, Leaf Rapids RCMP said in a news release.

RCMP Winnipeg, Thompson Major Crime Units and Forensic Identification Services are assisting in the continuing investigation.
Baker appeared in court for the first time in Thompson on Monday. Anyone with information regarding the case are asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
